Haliotis 2 in Nice

SEVAR begins the second phase of its contract with SUEZ for the Haliotis 2 Project

We are pleased to be part of the flagship Haliotis 2 project for the “Régie Eau d’Azur” and the metropolis Nice Côte d’Azur. After completion of the basic engineering with SUEZ, we have now started the second phase of the project, which involves the detail engineering, production, delivery and installation of an innovative sewage sludge drying system. The equipments will be installed underground in a treatment plant partially buried and subject to a particularly neat landscape insertion. The thermal energy for the dryers will be provided by an innovative and reliably energy-efficient heat pump system.

The installation comprises two identical lines of the SEVAR BD 3000 type — an innovative concept ensuring reliable, resource-efficient, and energy-saving drying. With a thermal energy consumption of approx. 300 kWh per Ton of evaporated water, we are setting new industry standards.

30 Years Belt Dryer | Zschimmer & Schwarz

For more than 30 years, the SEVAR Belt Dryer BD2500/4 has been reliably performing its duties at Zschimmer & Schwarz‘s on-site wastewater treatment plant. Not least due to the well-versed and dedicated plant operators. At the Zschimmer & Schwarz headquarters in Lahnstein (Germany), with over 500 employees, chemical auxiliaries and specialties are produced for numerous applications.

The head of the wastewater treatment plant, Mr. Clemens Wilhelm, explains the plant in detail during our visit to Lahnstein in May 2023. The wastewater treatment plant currently treats 500 m³/d of industrial wastewater generated in Lahnstein during the production of, among other things, chemical auxiliaries for ceramic, fiber and leather products, as well as raw materials for the detergent and cosmetics industries. Sanitary and kitchen wastewater from the plant is also treated. All wastewater is collected in a mixing and equalization tank with a capacity of 1,200 m³ and fed evenly seven days a week to biological treatment with a cleaning capacity of up to 1,200 m³/d. [...]
